Now Hiring: VCFS Dancers
Dance like no one is watching...except for us of course. The Vogue Charity Fashion show is looking for dancers, and we want you! At VCFS, creative artistry is valued and depicted in all sorts of mediums. Not only through stunning models and designs, but also through dance. We are currently hiring dancers to take the stage for the 2021/2022 show. This year, the dance portfolio will be led by the talented Julia Fagen, who is “ready to challenge the dancers and create amazing pieces for the VCFS show while supporting a local cause”. Interested? Here are the audition deets:
This year, seize the opportunity to become a VCFS dancer at auditions which will be taking place on Sunday, September 12th. There will be four auditions that will focus on contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and heels styles. Each style will have two different time slots to minimize the amount of dancers in the room, as well as accommodate different schedules. The audition will include a warm-up, demonstration of technical skills across the floor, and a combo that dancers will learn and perform during the audition. Dancers may audition for as little, or as many styles as they want. Before audition day, make sure to fill out the provided application form with all of your information so that VCFS can be in touch. If dance auditions are unable to happen in person, we have a backup plan! Videos of the combos will be released and dancers will be asked to send in a self-taped audition.
So you think you can dance for the VCFS Fashion Show? Here are three things that Head of Dance Julia Fagen is looking for in dancers this year:
1. Passion for dancing!
2. Willingness to push themselves
3. Dedication to VCFS and wanting the pieces to be great
Got this criteria covered? We’ll see you at auditions! In case you aren’t convinced VCFS is the place for you, here’s a final message from Julia:
“I can’t wait to bring the dance portfolio to life and work with the incredible talent within the Queen’s Community. My experience of dancing in the VCFS show two years ago was incredible and I am looking forward to helping provide that same experience to other dancers!"
