What VCFS is Thankful For

Thank goodness... we made it to reading week. Oh, and Thanksgiving! Who could forget?   The  holiday that hits just as midterm stress is ramping up and thoughts of Halloween and even Christmas begin to fill our minds. Amidst our busy fall schedules, let’s not rush through this day of thanks. In fact, maybe we should start viewing Thanksgiving as a whole season of gratitude.

Whether it’s family, friendships, mashed potatoes or extensions on assignments, I believe we can all find something to be grateful for. But what does it mean to be grateful? What does that look like?  By being actively thankful for who we are, and what we have in this present moment, we are showing gratitude.

Blessings come in all forms - and sizes. Let’s celebrate the small victories as much as the bigger gifts of life. When gratitude is shown for even the smallest of blessings, we’re able to  develop a gratitude complex, allowing us to look for the good every day of the year - not just on Turkey Day.

To get you into the Thanksgiving spirit, the Head Exec of VCFS has provided a list of some of the things they’re grateful for, and the ways they choose to show gratitude.

We hope you’ll allow yourself to reflect on what you’re thankful for, and maybe you can work some of these methods of thanks into your life.

If you find yourself feeling blessed in abundance this year,  a sure way to get into the spirit of Thanksgiving is by donating to the VCFS charity, the Kingston Interval House. Every donation counts, and VCFS, as well as KIH, would be truly grateful.
